Just a little status report.
This weekend we finished tearing out the last of the flooring. Had to take out a toilet, washer and dryer, and three doors to do it. But it's done. Got the toilet and washer/dryer put back in so we can use them until we get to that part of the house with the flooring. Then they'll all be coming out again. But those were easy things, thank goodness.
Paint kitchen lovely shade of pale sage: check. Paint entryway, hallway, and breakfast nook lovely shade of wheat: check. Continue wheat color into dining room and living room: no check. That's the painting project we've got left to do before we can start laying flooring.
We've invited our friends over for Thanksgiving, so we have to have everything completed by then. P thinks we'll be ready to start laying the floor next weekend. I don't think so, but we'll see. We've still got a lot of walls to paint.
After the floor is in, we've still got to put new baseboard moulding on all around. But before we can do that, we've got to buy the boards, and stain and finish them to match the floor. Still quite a lot of work to do.
And I'll have to paint my fireplace mantle, as its current color will not go with wheat.
My cold didn't keep me too down over the weekend, so that's good news. I just wish it would go away. I'm tired of it.
