I've received my calling, now what?

I've been summoned for jury duty. DURING MY VACATION. Argggggggh. Gads, I hope they let me out of it. I'm planning to use the "non-refundable airline tickets" plea.

This is the first time I've ever been summoned for jury duty. I've been wanting to serve for a long time. It's boggled my mind that I've been a registered voter for nearly 20 years and have never been called for jury duty. Why now???

P thinks it's funny. He suggested we'd have to cancel our vacation plans. I said NO DICE, PAL. You're going to Disneyland whether you like it or not! (It wasn't his first choice -- but hey, it was MY choice!) I'll risk civic insubordination, or whatever it is. Send me to prison. I gotta see Mickey.
