Our first caller
Saturday, Jun. 29, 2002, 7:08 am

So my old car has been on the market for 9 days. We got our first call last night. Yay! A young girl who wants to come and look at it this afternoon. I didn't actually get to talk to her - P did - and he informed her that we were very motivated sellers. Heh. I guess that's what you'd call it. We've got a $1,000 buffer. This, on a $3,500 car!

So, yeah. We'd give it to her for $2,500, just to be done with it. But we're not going to tell her that! No. We'll let her make us an offer, and if it's at least $2,500, that baby is sold!

Actually, we considered just donating the car and taking the tax write-off. We'd really like to help someone out who can't get a leg up and needs a good, nice looking car to transport her groceries and children. Perhaps a single mother, though we know we wouldn't be able to choose who actually got the car. But we'd hope someone like that would get it.

At any rate, whoever buys our car is going to get a good deal. Remember! We just spent $800 getting it fully serviced, completely in good working order, because we had planned to keep the car forever. Then along came the Jeep we couldn't pass up.....so, there you go.

And really, we only need to get enough out of my old car to put a nice downpayment on a new tent trailer. We actually only need about $2,000. So, as you can see, we are extremely motivated sellers. I hope we get a good vibe from this girl today, because we may just give her the deal of the century.
